Two Platen Press
|
| This press was designed for a manufacturer of headliners for the automotive industry. The press features two platens. The lower platen extends to a preset position and holds. The upper platen advances at fast speeds to a preset position and switches to press speed. The part is contacted and held under pressure until a dwell timer times out to signal the upper platen to return. The lower platen retracts when the upper platen reaches its full up position. To assist die removal the two platens and bed are sculpted. The press also includes a fabricated bolster.
